The first ever Awakened World Film Festival is a "spirit-spun" celebration of the emerging opportunities of our times. Something Good is trying to happen! Film, at its best, seduces us with a New Story of what can be ours. This Film Festival is our chance to come together and see the films, live in the messages, and meet the people at the cutting edge--the actors and renowned teachers who are in the films, and the artists who produce them. Over four nights and three days, attendees will be treated to evening “Galas” in one of Santa Barbara’s landmark theaters, and design their own daytime film/workshop schedule. This is a film festival woven into a working conference in which YOU play a key role The Association for Global New Thought's 2014 Awakened World Conference Retreat is so much more than an enlightened festival of films. Every full morning and afternoon program will bring you face-to-face with masterful spiritual and social leaders in dialogue with the media mentors of our times. Onstage at each evening "Gala" will be musicians, awards, and inspirational voices that have become the trademark of the New Thought movement. "What the Bleep?" premiered in the Fall of 2004, a dynamic new catalyst for consciousness in media. Ten years later, this Fall of 2014, What the Bleep Creator and Director, William Arntz, has chosen the Awakened World Festival to celebrate this momentous anniversary! Invitations will spread worldwide to attend festivities with cast and crew, and YOU. Birthday cake for hundreds, balloons and search lights in the sky? Come join us! Headlining the festival are films featuring by several Hollywood notables, including "A PLACE AT THE TABLE," starring Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges, and "THE HUNGRY GHOSTS," produced by Michael Imperioli of The Sopranos fame. Throughout the festival week: panels, workshops, meditations, discussions, with leaders such as Michael Bernard Beckwith, Kenn Gordon, actor Jeff Bridges (as schedule permits), actor Michael Imperioli, Jonas Elrod, Suzannne Geisemann, Katie Teague, Lydia Smith, Ram Dass (live stream), Kara Rhodes, Austin Vickers, Mickey Lemle, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Jack Canfield, Gay Hendricks, Kenny Loggins, Louis Schwartzberg, Daniel Karslake, Randy Taran (Dalai Lama Foundation), Rinaldo Brutoco (World Business Academy), Emmanuel Itier (The Invocation/Femme), Kerry Candaele, Michael Wolfe, Susan Koscis (Search for Common Ground), John Raatz (G.A.T.E.) and many more. Musical Director is Faith Rivera with performances by Rickie Byars Beckwith and our favorite artists from Agape International Spiritual Center, plus local artists. New Thought and evolutionary leaders host all proceedings, and you will be invited to explore contemplative practices based in the spirituality of New Thought, Native Peoples, Buddhism and Eastern philosophy, yoga, Tai Chi and healing arts, movement and drumming, Sufism, and unique expressions of traditional mysticism. Awaken to spiritual and socially responsible cinema at its best in SPIRIT * SOCIETY * SELF. Rise to the challenge of new narratives that evolve us. Consciously become an ethical, compassionate, healthy, and connected member of the human family.
